The mission and principles of care and connection that are the core of the Whidbey Institute are a distinctive fit. My deep commitment to land stewardship, and growing food in a healthy way for the community fueled our move to South South Whidbey Island.

The 1/2 acre Westgarden has been cultivated by staff, volunteers and interns since 1979. The garden includes chickens, bees, and vermiculture. We grow food for program participants, staff, and the Good Cheer Food Bank.
It is a living classroom where Community Garden Leadership Apprentices, Waldorf students, and volunteers of all ages can work and learn.
All are welcome to our Thursday work parties that are held from March through October.
